VIOLATORS OF THEIR" SIMCHA GUIDELINES"

I attended 33 chassunas & vorts in the month of June.

The following authors and signers of the "Simcha Guidelines"were at simchas that were in direct violation of their own self serving proclamation.

I despise hypocrites!!!!

Shmuel Kaminetsky
Shmuel Berenbaum
Yaakov Perlow
Yitzchak Feigelstock
Aron Schachter
Simcha Shustal
Malkiel Kotler
Dovid Shustal
Mattisyahu Solomon
E.B.Wachtfogel
Zecharia Gelley
Shlomo Mandel

These are 12 out of the 23" gedolim" that signed this Kol Koreh.
I saw personally most of them more than once.

There were hundreds of simchas last month,if there were sightings of the other signers that were in violation, please make me aware of them.

Why do I blog?

I intend to expose the guys that make a mockery of authentic Judaism. They have created a fraudulent, over the top Yiddishkeit that our zeides' would not recognize.

THEY ARE CHOTEH UMACHTE ES HORABIM,WITH THEIR BANS & PROCLAMATIONS.

SHAKRONIM,I WILL CHASE YOU ON THE INTERNET & EXPOSE YOUR LIES!

YOU ARE NOT MUCH DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER CHARLATANS AND PROFITEERS,MARVIN HIER &PHILIP BERG!!
THEY ALSO CREATED NEW BRANDS OF JUDAISM.

WATCH OUT FAKERS,I WILL REPORT YOUR UNSEEMLY BEHAVIOR TO ALL THAT CAN READ!

Since you've mentioned his name again - this time in the Simcha-Guidlines-Violators List, I feel compelled to inform you once again that Shlomo Mandel was miscategorized in your "Good-Guys-Average-Guys-Bad-Guys List"

He is not a Baininum guy - he is a RASHA GAMOR. I attended his "Yeshiva" in my elementary years and I want to tell you that so many of my schoolmates were RUINED and many turned off the derech as a result of the hell that was YOB. Under his and his bastard brother Yaakov's administration (and the fat piece of garbage English principal Avrohom Raider) countless students were tortured and abused. I hate the whole bunch and will never forgive them.

In case you didn't notice, the simcha guidelines contain at least 3 escape clauses, so in fact they didn't violate anything. The real point of the simcha guidelines is that people don't need to feel embarassed to make a more modest wedding and claim they are just following the rules.

I think you need to expand your list of so-called gedolim. I think that you give much leway to the litvish instutuions. Once you are knocking mosdos you should definitely include institusions like Chaim Berlin and Tora Temima on your list.

"I was raised in a prominent Orthodox Jewish home.I was privileged to get a wonderful education and ultimately received Smicha(the real kind)the old fashioned way...I earned it. I went on to graduate at one of the respected institutions of higher learning with honors. Most importantly to me,I observed everything...and discovered truths that to me were heart rendering and destructive. The critiques are in no way to be construed as critical of Judaism. My intent is to expose the practices and the conflicts that have denigrated our religion;hopefully leading to a drastic change in the way we select our "leaders"."

CAN YOU CONVINCE US OF THIS?

The very notion of "authentic Judaism" which you are, supposedly, striving for, is ridiculous. Ain't no such animal. It died in the holocaust. Not even the most Williamsburger hasid with the whitest socks and 3/4 satin trousers has any claim on authenticity. Why? Because since 3 million Polish Jews perished, along with the Jews of everywhere in Eastern Europe, everything we know about authentic Judaism is wrong.

I recommend the essay by Reb Chaim Soloveitchik from the mid 80s, where he's describing the complete collapse of the sane and balanced set of influences in the life of a Jewish child. It was a complex and well honed world, which I've only glimpsed through conversations with the elderly Jews in my life.

We only have Synthetic Judaism, made up from the remnants of Eastern Europe. It's man-made over a very short period of time, and the most we can say about it is that it's functional. New babies are being born, institutions are being built. Ain't none of them authentic, but you can see some of the sanity returning, here and there. Of course, if you devote yourself to exposing crap you'll have an easy task of it, a mere 60 years after the murders. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. We're all invalids, man, don't you see?

I think tehillum zugger has a point, though I dare suggest that Rosh Yeshivas from Europe, say R' Chaim Shmuelevitz, the Brisker Rav, R' Moshe, the Steipler, Rav Shach--they all shared certain values in common, and those values do not seem to be borne from a vacume. The primacy of Torah learning (though not for chassidim), good middos, Yiras shemayim were the trademarks of our ancestors. And it is not impossible to find people who strive for these values amongst our own today.

I would agree that chassidim are synthetic jews, but that's because their very roots go against what Jews had done and believed for thousands of years before its ill-begotten conception. From the conversations I have had with my grandparents, moreover, I learned that not everyone was "zoche" to wear a shtreimel. It was reserved for the learned. People had values, principles. Today's chassidus certainly does not mirror the chassidus of Europe. And even if it did, it is bascially an illetgitamite movement anyway. So many chassidim have problems with their faith, with their judaism. Perhaps its because its wrong, or that too many of its superfical ideas are being enforced in inappropriate ways in their education.

But I really do believe that R' Ahron, R' Moshe, Rav Paler, R' Yaakov, etc., in their personal lives portrayed to those of us who saw them some glimpse of how it once was. We can all at least try to do the same thing.

I should also add that every generation in Jewish history added things to secure itself. We wrote down Torah Shebiksav, hundreds of years later we put forth a shulchan aruch. We created beis yakovs. All of these institutions were innovations, but they were approved by our sages to help the klal continue. I am sure you are angry--your post is really provacative--but not everything out there is extreme. And, at the very least, some of the things they did makes sense, at least at hindsight.

I agree: their views were not merely "litvishe" views; they were views that they learned from their gedolim--it was a hemishich of the mesorah. They were incredibly decent people.

Some of today's are different. Some of them are not. Let's try to think bigger. . .

Most people agree with what you wrote about chassidim, btw, (have you NOT heard one curse like a sailor lately?) but DON'T publicize it on a public forum, they will never, EVER change their ways. They have been indoctrinated worse than Moonies. Easy. . .

I'm terribly sorry, you didn't get my point at all, and the self-serving litivish anthem you were singing there was not really necessary to advance the discussion, but it's OK, we all have our impulses.

The essence of Chaim Soloveitchik's essay was that Roshei Yeshivas in Europe were one significant voice, one very important influence in the life of a Jewish young man. In adition he had his mother and father, his relatives, his local rabbi, and many many other voices. In that mix, the Rosh Yeshive presented a strong, right-pulling voice, which was balanced out by all the other influences to forge a healthy, mainstream world view. His point is that after the war, as we were pushed to create a synthetic Jewish nation yesh m'ayin, we've deposited the car keys in the hands of the Rosh Yeshiva, who are driving ever rightward with no competing voice capable of balancing them out.

The result is a strange Torah militancy, easily as troubling in the litvish as in the hasidic worlds. It is insular, self-centered and quite a bit autistic. It is certainly not encouraging creativity. The most exciting things in Jewish stududies are happening in universities, not in Frum publishing. That field is nearly completely overtaken by Artscroll wannabe's, presenting the least daring, indeed the least interesting works on Judaism.

But, unlike the host of this discussion, I don't believe what's needed here is some whistleblower to reform our society. That's bunk. What's needed is time. Give a hundred years without a holocaust, and we'll adjust and go back to being ourselves: exciting, sane, open-minded Jews who adhere to the mitzvos and turn them into true poetry.

I do not believe you are correct in asserting that today's Batei Midrashim are not innovating or exciting. . . maybe it depends on what you mean by exciting. I don't find evolution to be exciting. Tumas Ohel, on the other hand, is interesting for me. I also don't understand why life back then is any different than it is now vis a vis Chaim Solleveitchik's article. There are all sorts of rabbonim, all sorts of parents, I just don't see how he can generalize like that. Maybe you can explain what you mean a little more. . .?

BTW, I was not singing a litvishe anthem, I was trying to explain that your thesis with respect to synthetic Jews may be true, but for other reasons, and perhaps generally more realistically to chassidim, as they are more into being chassidish than actually learning.

It was not your point, however, but I would appreciate if you would elaborate on the 2 comments made with respect to your entry.

Thank you.

Tehiilimzugger,
The first rational post by you I have seen on this blog!Thankyou!

I agree that the Holocaust has decimated much of our authentic Jews, however we had great rabbonim that came to America, but we failed miserably in carrying the ehrlichkeit forward.

For the most part-their kids took over their positions in the Torah world. The sad news is their kids DID NOT DESERVE THOSE POSITIONS.

Look around, how many better qualified rabbonim were able to take over the helm of the yeshivas than the ones that presently run them.
I am not talking about the Chassidic world,it began as a fraudulent Judaism and it perpetually got worse.

We now have the Gerrer Rebbe and the Melitzer Rebbe declaring that Moshiach will be here within the year.
They are delusional behaimas.

I do not believe that we should settle for the quality of the rosh yeshivas we have.We deserve better.

They are like kids, set the standards low and you get a dumb kid.
Make that kid accountable, even if he is an average kid,you get quality.

WE MUST DEMAND QUALITY & INTEGRITY! NOTHING ELSE WILL DO!

The internet today is like the radio of yesterday. That is how people are getting their information.

We must be vigilant for ourselves, for our children,if not Judaism will be fade away.

The numbers tell the story.Way
less than 10% of the Jews today are shomer Torah Umitzvos!

While you have some very valid points about today's generation, I don't like your throw away atitude about chasidim in general. Why do you feel it is not legititmate?

I feel Chasidus rescued Judaism generations ago by instilling faith and simcha!!

Normal Chassid,
The sad truth is that just maybe the Besht saved some jews, and just maybe the concept at his time was well meaning, but today it is a FRAUD & a SCAM as a legitimate part of Judaism.
Everyone today can go learn Torah if they want to & does not need an intemediary between himself and Hashem.
The Rebbe today is nothing more than a Cult leader, who preys on vulnerable and moronic people.
